Birth through Five Program

Kids' Korner Child Development Center's preschool program serves children ages 6 weeks through 5 years of age. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of care for children while promoting their development socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically in a nurturing, diverse, and inclusive setting. We believe all children are unique and strive to celebrate their uniqueness.  Our goal is to provide an extended family for your family in an atmosphere that will foster happiness, acceptance, tolerance, and build a strong foundation for not only through your child's academic career but for life.

Kids' Korner Child Development Center has seven classrooms with respective maximum ratios: 

  • Infants (2:10)

  • Wobblers (2:12)

  • Toddler (2:12)

  • Twos Early Pre-K (2:18)

  • Threes Pre-K (2:20)

  • Fours Pre-K (2:25)

  • NC Pre-K (2:18)

Our curriculum of choice is the Creative Curriculum. The Creative Curriculum, is a research-based curriculum that supports the development of the whole child, coincides with our mission, and follows the NC Foundations of Learning. Each classroom consists of learning centers where carefully selected, developmentally appropriate learning materials are included and rotated to meet the needs of the children. We have designed environments that facilitate learning that are tailored to our curriculum.

Our Learning Centers

Dramatic Play

Always a home but sometimes an addition such as a grocery store or post office provides all of the props such as multicultural clothes, dolls and food to practice social skills and learn about the world in which we live.

Art

Complete with everything that provides free creative expression through art and construction.

Music & Movement

CDs, Alexa, musical instruments, dancing scarves, and ribbons provide a variety of props to promote creative physical expression.

Mathematics

From sorting, counting, measuring, and recognizing patterns and shapes that will teach children an understanding of numbers, quantities, and reasoning skills.

Science

From an assortment of natural items to teach children about the physical world around them to simple tools to explore will teach children to ask questions, make predictions, and develop generalizations.

Writing

Children can write, trace, and draw using a variety of materials encouraging fine motor skills and print recognition.

Sand and Water

Sensory tables provide the children with opportunities to take in new information through their senses.

Language & Literacy

Multicultural books, puppets, and puzzles representing various genders and ages give a quiet space to explore children's imaginations.

Blocks

Unit blocks, homemade blocks, people of various races and genders, transportation, and animals from around the world allows for construction of the world around them.

Cozy

Sometimes we all need a place to get away and reconcile our feelings while reading a book or fidgeting with toys.
